1992/93 Wichita Thunder:

Here's a great looking first year road Wichita Thunder jersey. This jersey was worn by Thunder defenseman Darin Srochenski. Darin played in 43 games scoring 2 goals 7 assists and racked up a 196 penalty minutes. The jersey is mesh and made by MSport, size 2XL. Logo is screened onto a white background and sewn on front. All the numbers are in two color and sewn on. Wichita did not use nameplates their first season. Wear is good with a few holes/tears and some small board burns. A few stick marks can be seen on the elbow and wrist areas. MSport jerseys did not come with fight straps this year, so Darin made his own by pushing a penny through the back of the jersey and then tying a skate lace around the penny.

1993/94 Wichita Thunder:

This first Thunder jersey is from their second season in the C.H.L.. This home jersey was worn by Stephane Venne during this season. Venne played in 47 games scoring 6 goals 20 assist for 26 points, he also racked up 224 penalty minutes. The jersey is a Duralux mesh size 54. The logo is fully embroidered onto a piece of material then sewn onto the front. All the numbers are two color and are all sewn on. The name is in single color and sewn onto a blue satiny cloth nameplate, the same type of material that the numbers were made of. Then that nameplate was sewn onto another satiny gray plate which was sewn onto the jersey, similar to the numbers. There is a fight strap on this jersey. Stephan had some major alterations done to the sleeves and lower part of the jersey. He cut off the lower the hem stripes on the sleeves and waist area and the second stripe was sewn up under to make a new hem (see road jersey below). The Duralux rear tag that should be on the lower hem is now gone. Wear on the jersey is relatively light with only a few stick marks on the sleeves and lower front.

This Thunder jersey is also from their second season in the C.H.L.. This road jersey was worn by Mark Bourgeois during this season. Bourgeois only played in 9 games scoring no points. The jersey is a Duralux mesh size 54. The logo is fully embroidered onto a piece of material then sewn onto the front. All the numbers are two color and are all sewn on. The name is in single color and sewn onto a white satiny cloth nameplate, the same type of material that the numbers were made of. Then that nameplate was sewn onto another satiny black plate which was sewn onto the jersey, similar to the numbers. There is a fight strap on this jersey. The Duralux tag can been seen on the lower right rear hem. There is no wear on this jersey due to Mark only playing a few games with the Thunder..

1994/95 Wichita Thunder:

This Thunder road jersey was worn by goaltender Greg Smith. Greg played in 29 games and posted a 17-8-2 record with a 4.08 GAA. The jersey is a Bauer knit size 56. The logo is fully embroidered then sewn on front. All the numbers are two color and are all sewn on. The name is also two color and sewn onto a satiny blue cloth nameplate which was sewn onto the jersey. There is a fight strap on this jersey. A 1994 CHL Levins Trophy patch is sewn onto the top right chest area. The wear is very light on the jersey with only a few puck and stick marks.

1997/98 Wichita Thunder:

This Thunder St. Patrick's Day was worn by Rob Friesen. The jersey is also made by OT sports, size XXL. All the numbers are sewn on. Everything else is screened. The fight strap was cut out because he is a goalie. For a one game jersey this one actually has some wear. There are several puck marks on the front and the wrists have staining from either blood or sweat. Rob has autographed the jersey on the shoulder just above the the name. (thanks to James M. for the use of the photos)

1998/99 Wichita Thunder:

Here is a Thunder road jersey worn by John Kachur. John appeared in 65 games scoring 32 goals 25 assists for 57 points. The jersey is a ProJoy knit, size 56. All the colors on the jersey are sublimated. Embroidered crest is sewn on front. All the numbers are in 3 color and sewn on. Single color name sewn onto nameplate which is sewn on back. Screened Blockbuster patch sewn on front left chest. 3 embroidered patches are on the rear hem, the ProJoy patch is sewn on. The CHL and Jersey Express patches are ironed or heat pressed on. The wear on the jersey is very good with many board burns on the right sleeve/elbow area. Also numerous stick marks in white areas of the jersey and on the numbers with one nice stick mark on the right sleeve #7. There are also great board burns on both shoulders along with material snags/pulls and some interior pilling. There is also a fight strap on this jersey. (A big thanks goes out to Greg G. for supplying the photos).

2000/01 Wichita Thunder:

This jersey is an alternate or sometimes called a third jersey of the Wichita Thunder. This jersey was worn by Jon Austin. Jon plays right wing for the Thunder and has played in 14 games scoring 6 goals 4 assists for 10 points (as of 2/22/01). The jersey is made by OT sports, size XXL. All the colors on the jersey are sublimated. The logo is embroidered and is either glued or heat sealed onto the front. The back numbers are in two color, the sleeve numbers are in three color. All the numbering is sewn onto the jersey. The name is in single color and sewn onto a nameplate, which then was sewn onto the jersey. There is a fight strap on this jersey and it has been initialed by the Thunder trainer. The wear on the jersey is light but more than I expected for a third jersey. The left arm (shown above) shows good board burns on the elbows and across the top of the # 4. There are also some good stick marks on the same elbow and on the lower edge of the # 2. The right sleeve has one un-repaired hole along with two dark stick marks on the elbows. One other good stick mark can be seen on the lower part of the back # 2. The jersey also shows sign of a nameplate change and I believe Chris Dearden wore this jersey before Jon did. Chris played defense with the Thunder and in 10 games had 2 assist before leaving the team. The OT patch on the right rear is also glued/heat sealed onto the jersey.

Andrew wore this alternate "ThunderDog" jersey in 00-01, his inaugural CHL season. He appeared in 66 games with a 6p - 22a - 105pim record in the stat books. This OT air knit has sublimated lightning bolts throughout the body. The crest, that suspiciously looks like the Saturday morning cartoon of the 70's "UnderDog",  is embroidered and heat sealed on to the jersey. The fancy 3 color sleeve and 2 color back numbers are expertly sewn.  The 1 color letters are sewn on a name plate that has the same lightning bolts and matches almost perfectly. A very nice job. There aren't any sponsor patches but there is a nice embroidered OT logo heat sealed on the tail. This jersey shows great wear for an alternate. The team wore these for Saturday night games only (about 12 times). The sleeves have plenty of board burns and stick marks and there is a nasty mark just below the crest. Purchase directly from the team but now... in the HockeyJimm Collection...

Here's another Thunder alternate jersey that was worn by Jay Banach. Jay appeared in 24 games scoring 5 goals and 1 assist and racked up 70 penalty minutes. This OT air knit has sublimated lightning bolts throughout the body. (thanks to Sean P. for supplying the photos).

Here's a home Wichita Thunder jersey. This jersey was worn by Allan Roulette. Allan played defense for the Thunder and appeared in 20 games scoring  2 goals 6 assists and 34 PIMs before he went to the Tupelo T-Rex of the WPHL. The jersey is made by OT sports, size XXL. All the colors on the jersey are sublimated. The logo on front comes from Native Wichita artist Blackbear Bosin's famous 44-foot sculpture "Keeper of the Plains" that stands at the confluence of the Big and Little Arkansas Rivers on land where the Wichita tribe camped a hundred years ago. The crest and shoulder patches are tackle twill and sewn on. The name is one color sewn on a plate and then attached to the back of the jersey. The numbers are two color sewn. There are two patches sewn on the tail; OT and the CHL logo. Wear is light. Very nice jersey from the HockeyJimm Collection.

Here's a road Wichita Thunder Road jersey of Pat Glenday. This blueliner had 2 assist and 18 PIMs in his 18 game stint with Wichita. The jersey is an OT knit with sublimated lightning bolts and striping. The "Keeper of the Plains" shoulder patches, Thunder crest,  and numbers are all sewn on the jersey. The tail has OT and CHL league patch also sewn on. Pat did a lot of corner work as the sleeves have numerous board burns and unprepared holes. From the HockeyJimm Collection.
