The San Antonio Iguanas joined Central Hockey League in 1994 and they were also the league's first expansion team. The Iguanas left the league for one season (1997/98) and then returned again in 1998. If you have any missing jerseys and you would like to help out, please email me.

1994/95 San Antonio Iguanas:
Here is a first year home San Antonio Iguanas jersey that was worn by defensemen Ken Plaquin. Ken played in 66 games scoring 7 goals 46 assists and led all the Iguanas blue liners in scoring. The jersey is a Bauer knit jersey with a Prowear tag inside the collar but both tags have completely worn away. The logo is fully embroidered onto a piece of material then sewn onto the front. All the numbers are in two color and are all sewn on. The name is also in two color and sewn on a nameplate which was sewn onto the jersey. The owner of this jersey stated that this jersey has the most wear he has ever seen on a game worn jersey. Both sleeves have about a dozen repairs with what looks like it was done with fishing line or a very strong plastic fiber. Black marks appear all over the jersey especially the front and sleeves. The jersey has a fight strap. The Bauer logo is sewn directly on the back hem. (A big thanks to Denton V. for supplying the photos)
This is a first year road jersey that was worn by Centerman Sean Goldsworthy. Sean played in 23 games scoring 11 goals 6 assist for 17 points. The jersey is a heavy Bauer knit, size 52. All sewn on, including crest which is an embroidered crest. Notice the left side of the jersey, Sean used clear tape to tighten up the jersey. Sean father, Bill Goldsworthy, was the first head coach of the San Antonio Iguanas. Bill Goldsworthy was one of the original members of the Minnesota North Stars and a 5 time N.H.L. All-Star. Bill also had his number #8 retired by the North Stars team. On November 11, 1994, during the season, Bill found out he had contracted AIDS. Bill was replaced as head coach by John Torchetti shortly afterwards. Bill Goldsworthy later died on March 29, 1996. Even today Sean is still involved with hockey as the head coach of St. Olaf's College hockey team which happens to be his alma mater. (Thanks to Dan S. for providing these photos).
1995/96 San Antonio Iguanas:
This Iguanas road jersey was worn by Sebastian LaPlante. Sebastian played in 54 games scoring 29 goals 37 assists for 66 points. The jersey is a Bauer knit jersey size 54. The logo is fully embroidered onto a piece of material then sewn onto the front. All the numbers are in three color and are all sewn on. The name is in two color sewn on a nameplate which was sewn onto the jersey. The wear is medium with some board burns on the elbows and on the sleeves but the purple color hides all the marks real well. There are two strange stains on the rear just above the Jersey Express patch, I have no idea what caused them. A Jersey Express patch is sewn on the left rear tail. A 169 patch was sewn onto the left shoulder in remembrance of the victims of the Oklahoma City bombing. At the time the jerseys were made it was believed that 169 people were killed, that number was later lowered to 168. The entire CHL wore these patches on their jerseys this season.
1998/99 San Antonio Iguanas:
Here's a great looking 3rd jersey that was used during the Iggies 1998/99 playoff run. This jersey was worn by Scott Green who played in 8 playoff games scoring 8 goals 4 assists for 12 points. The Iguanas were defeated in overtime by the Oklahoma City Blazers in game 5. Jersey size is XXL. (thanks to Belch for supplying the photo)
1999/00 San Antonio Iguanas:
Tough guy, Marc LaForge was seen skating, for San Antonio in this sweater during the 1999-00 season. Marc has amassed almost 4000 penalty minutes in his 17 year career. He has worn jerseys for 15 different teams from the Juniors to the NHL. Marc appeared in 51 games that season scoring 2 goal and 15 assists with of course, 243 PIMS, mostly fighting majors. Unfortunately, this AIS jersey doesn't show much wear. I suspect this was a replacement late in the season. There are a few burns and stick marks and a large tear in the right lower sleeve. The Iguana crest is embroidered and the fancy 3 color numbers are all sewn on to the heavy mesh body. There is no sublimation or screening here. Everything is cut and sew. The name is one color sewn on a mesh namebar and sewn on to the jersey. There is a Security Services patch sewn on to the right upper chest and a CHL patch on the tail. Acquired from Drop The Gloves from Jay Barrett from the Team but now... in the HockeyJimm Collection....
The Iguanas St. Patrick's Day jersey was worn by Rhett Dudley. This jersey was worn on March 15, 2000 against the Topeka Scarecrows were Rhett scored 1 goal and had 1 assist. The is made by OT sports, size XXL. The numbers, Super S Foods patch and the team crest are sewn on. The name and Red Baron have been screened on. Everything else on the jersey is fully sublimated. There is a fight strap and it's intact. Rhett was named the #2 Star of the Game and when he autographed the jersey he added 1g, 1a, 2nd Star as you can see in the middle picture. (thanks to James M. for the use of the photos)
Here's another specialty jersey that was worn for Halloween. This jersey was to be worn by Peat, but he was released just before the game and the jersey is a game issue. The jersey is OT, size XXL. (thanks to Belch for supplying the photos).
2000/01 San Antonio Iguanas:
Here's a 2000-01 San Antonio Iguanas that was worn by Marty "Meatgrinder" Melnychuk. Marty was traded for future considerations on February 16th from Fayetteville Force. Marty appeared in 15 games scoring 4 goals 3 assists and racked up 57 penalty minutes with the Iguanas. There are loose threads around the name plate and may have been used by another player. Marty received 59 PIMs in nine playoff games. The jersey is made by OT Sports, size XXL. All sewn on, heavy wear with stick marks on front, back, and sleeves. Burns and holes on both sleeves. Both shoulder patches, and CHL and OT patch on back hem, all partially torn away from shirt. "Factory added" body and sleeve panel inserts from hem to cuffs.
