Fort Worth joined the C.H.L. for the 1967/68 season after the Memphis franchise relocated to Fort Worth. They were called the Wings until they changed their name for the 1974/75 season. Their new name was the Texans. The Texans would play in the league for the next 8 years before leaving. The Texans last year in the old C.H.L. was the 1981/82 season. The Texans parent teams were the New York Islanders 1973-79, Los Angeles Kings 1975-77, Minnesota North Stars 1977/78, and the Colorado Rockies 1979-82.
Note: It is believed that the New York Islanders handed down their jerseys to their farm team, the Fort Worth Texans. A former equipment manager of the Islanders, Jim Pickard, has told other collector that this was the case. (thanks to Mike G. for providing this information)
Fort Worth Texans 1974-76:
This first Fort Worth Texans road jersey style was used during the 1974-1976 seasons. The manufacturer is Rawlings. The material is knit type with a tie down neck. The numbers are two color type and sewn onto the jersey. The crest is fully embroidered and is similar to the New York Islanders logo. The crest is also sewn onto the jersey. On the crest, notice the word "TEXANS" is done in orange with a white border. Many rips and team repairs can be seen on the elbows. Two players that wore #21 during this time where Jim Webster (1974/75) and Bob Bourne (1975/76). (thanks to Steve E. for the photo)
Here's another road Texans jersey. This one is a little different from the one above. The numbering style is different and also the manufacture. I'm not sure what year it was worn but this logo was only used during the 1974-76 seasons. This jersey was worn by Brad Anderson. Brad played with the Texans for three season (1974-1977). This jersey was made by Syosset out of Long Island. Like the jersey above, the material is knit with a tie down neck. The numbers are two color and sewn onto the jersey. The crest is fully embroidered and is similar to the New York Islanders logo. The crest is also sewn onto the jersey. The wear is good with the left side numbers showing the most damage. There are also signs of a logo change and there's a good chance that this jersey was a hand me down from the N.Y. Islanders.
Fort Worth Texans 1976/77:
This Texan road jersey is from the 1976/77 season. This jersey was worn by Brad Anderson. Brad played in 74 games scoring 32 goals 40 assists for 72 points. The jersey is Rawlings knit size 48 with a tie down front. The team crest is fully embroidered then sewn on front. The numbers are two color and also sewn on. The logo has changed somewhat from the jersey above, the "FW" has been dropped and "Fort Worth" has been spelled out. The logo lettering is now a single color, white. The puck on the logo has been moved to the other side and now is orange. The state of Texas has also been done a lot better. Many rips and tears are throughout this jersey along with many team repairs. A stain can be seen just below the number on left sleeve (blood?). Right above the stain is a major repair. The equipment trainer added a piece of cloth to the inside elbow area. The fight strap has been completely ripped out, all that remains is a hole and stitch marks. This jersey could possibly be a hand me down jersey from the New York Islanders. The Texans logo has been sewn onto the jersey with a different color thread and a different stitching pattern. There also are a few loose white threads near the logo stitching but no other signs of a logo change can be seen. So I'm not 100% sure if this was an Islanders jersey or not.
Here's a home Texan jersey from the 1976/77 season. The jersey is a Rawlings knit, size 50. This one recently sold on ebay so I don't have much info on this jersey.
Fort Worth Texans 1977-79:
Here is a Texan home jersey, I believe from the 1977/78 season. I have seen photos that some of these jerseys were used again in 1978/79 and even possibly recycled again in 1981/82. I'm 100% sure that this style was not used during the 1979-1981 season. During that time, the Texans used a style similar to the Colorado Rockies jerseys who happened to be the Texans parent team at the time. The manufacturer is Rawlings, size 50, with a tie down neck. The logo is fully embroidered then sewn onto the jersey. The logo is a little different from the jersey above. The lettering is thicker on this one and the puck has gone back to two colors. The owner of this jersey says that this one has had a logo change. The original logo was smaller than the Texans logo. This possibly could be a hand me down jersey from the New York Islanders. (thanks to Gary Mac. for supplying this photo)
Another great looking home jersey. Year again is unsure. The manufacturer is Rawlings, size
48, with a tie down neck Jersey shows clear signs of a logo change. Again,
possibly a hand me down from the New York Islanders and if so Bryan Trottier
wore this jersey with the Islanders. Jersey is hammered. (thanks for Dan S.

Fort Worth Texans 1979/80:
Here's a rare home jersey from the Texans 1979/80 season. The Fort Worth Texans changed parent teams following the 1978-79 season. Their new farm team would be the Colorado Rockies. The Texans were the Rockies farm team from 1979 until 1982. With the change in parent teams, so changed the Texans jerseys to match the Rockies. This jersey was worn by Right Winger Archie Henderson. Archie appeared in 49 games with the Texans scoring 8 goals 9 assist and racked up 199 penalty minutes. The jersey is a Rawlings mesh, size 50. The striping on the sleeves and waist are knit. The logo and numbers are all screened on. There is no fight strap but there are signs that Archie made use of a custom made quarter/skate lace fight strap. Wear is good with with some stick marks on front and on both sleeves. There is also a small tear in the neck area.
Fort Worth Texans 1981/82:
Here is a Texan home jersey from their last season in the "old" C.H.L. The manufacturer is Rawlings and it's the knit style, size 48, with a tie down neck. The logo is fully embroidered then sewn onto the jersey. The jersey is in great shape with a few tears here and there and some stains. I talked to the original owner of this jersey. He bought it directly from the Texans after they folded and said that this jersey was worn by Les Auge during that final season. (thanks to Dennis V. for the photo)
Here's another Fort Worth Texans home jersey. It's a Rawlings knit, size 50. Again this jersey might have been used over different years.
